Jamacho Gumba is located at the peak of the Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park 2100 meters from sea level. It passes through the vastness of the forests, which are guarded by the Nepalese army. You can observe the Kathmandu valley and the Himalayan ranges, particularly the Langtang and Everest Himalayas, from the summit. Your interest is piqued by the sight of the Kathmandu Valley. Before entering the forest, you have to get yourself a ticket and then the army will inspect your baggage for prohibited items including blades, speakers, lighters, and other items. As this Conservational area is famous for various flora and fauna. Only the melodic chirping of the birds can be heard during this hike. There are concrete steps created for hiking which is well maintained by the army. It takes roughly 2.5 hours to reach the top, or more, depending on your walking pace. During the rainy season, the presence of leaches may cause problems. If you’ve never hiked before, the straight, uphill track with steps might be too much for you. Make sure you carry enough water and some snacks. The entire journey is through a forest full of greeneries and birds. There is a view tower at the top that allows you to overlook the surrounding area and the Himalayas in the distance.

Route to this destination:
One can reach Jamacho by boarding a local bus from Goldhunga at NAC Bus Stop or from Macchapokhari and getting off at Phulbari Gate. If you are new to this place, getting out of the bus at the exact spot could be confusing, but with the help of the bus passenger and co-driver, it could also be done, or you can rent a local taxi from Macchapokhari or Bypass; it will cost you around 300 NPR.
