Durbar Marg Shops will be Close for an Hour in Protest Against Parking Ban. Business community in DurbarMarg has decided to close their shops for an hour, starting from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Business owner from the DurbarMarg area of Kathmandu are protesting against the recent decision by the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) to prohibited parking in the roadsides of DurbarMarg in collaboration with the traffic police which significantly led to decreasing customer as they have found difficulties to park their vehicles to visit the shops and has affected the businesses directly.
The ban on vehicle parking in the Durbarmarg area of Kathmandu can have a negative impact on the tourism industry in the region because it is a popular commercial place that attracts a large number of tourists due to its nearby popular tourist destinations such as the Narayanhiti Palace Museum, the Garden of Dreams, and Kumari Ghar. So, tourists often prefer the convenience of driving to their destinations, and the lack of parking spaces in the area will discourage them from visiting the area.
