Three incredibly skilled mountain climbers are currently trying to reach the top of Manaslu, which is the eighth tallest mountain in the world. These climbers are Chatur Tamang, who has conquered Europe’s tallest mountain, Mount Elbrus, an impressive 142 times. There’s also Pasangdawa Sherpa, who is the second most successful mountaineer globally, and Kamirita Sherpa, who holds the record for the most Everest ascents.
This year, 266 people, including 208 men and 58 women, have been given permission to climb Manaslu. The government of Nepal has made about 34 million 46 thousand 930 rupees by selling climbing licenses.
It’s expected that in early October, the climbers will reach the summit of Manaslu. If successful, they will join a very exclusive group of people who have reached the top of all 14 of the world’s highest mountains.
