Nepal Prepares for Investment Summit to Galvanize Foreign Direct Investment (FDI)

In a bid to invigorate the country’s economic landscape, the government gears up to host an investment summit, strategically aimed at enticing foreign direct investment (FDI) into Nepal.

Scheduled for April 21-22, 2024, the investment summit is poised as a platform to showcase Nepal’s investment potential, beckoning foreign investors to explore opportunities within the country’s borders.

Under the guidance of Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat, a preparatory committee has been assembled to orchestrate this pivotal event. Tasked with coordination, the committee appoints Sushil Bhatta, Chief Executive Officer of Investment Board Nepal, as its member secretary.

The Investment Board Nepal assumes responsibility for spearheading the summit’s arrangements, supplemented by the formation of a coordination committee operating under its aegis. Preparations are already underway, signaling the government’s proactive stance in facilitating investment inflow.

Notably, previous investment summits held in Falgun (mid-February to mid-March) 2073 BS and Chaitra (mid-March to mid-April) 2075 BS underscored the government’s commitment to fostering investment partnerships.

Invitations will extend to development partners, friendly nations, and foreign investors, collectively contributing to the summit’s global outreach and potential impact.

The upcoming investment summit stands as a beacon for Nepal’s commitment to fostering a conducive investment climate, inviting global stakeholders to partake in the nation’s journey towards economic growth and development.
