Efforts are underway to create the Shree Pashupati Hindu University by using funds from the Pashupatinath Temple. During a recent event seeking input from scholars for the university’s establishment, Dr. Jagman Gurung, the Coordinator of the Preparation Committee, emphasized that the university will rely on the temple’s religious fund without government aid.
The committee, under the Pashupati Area Development Trust, is actively preparing for the university’s setup. Dr. Gurung highlighted that the fusion of “Pashupati” and “Hindu” will boost Nepal’s global appeal, drawing Hindu followers worldwide and elevating Nepal’s stature.
They’re examining the possibility of locating the university within PADT’s land in Gothatar. The establishment process will progress once the Education Ministry approves the proposal.
