Prime Minister Prachanda promised that the government would keep helping Kathmandu’s city officials handle the garbage problem. He talked about studying how to deal with trash better in the city. He said they want to use modern ways, not just old ones, to manage garbage and make jobs too.
The Prime Minister also said they’ll work with the city to make sure they handle garbage well for a long time and get good results. He asked them to focus on making a good plan for managing garbage.
To address the water crisis, he further stated that the government would guarantee that people had access to clean drinking water. He considers that other tasks, like improving the city and helping citizens, are sectors where the government can assist.
Lastly, he mentioned the need to fix problems in how the government buys things for public projects. He said they need to improve rules for buying things so that when they rebuild things, they do it right. He also said local leaders should be open, fair, and helpful because they have a big role in making their areas better for people, according to the rules in the constitution.
