This year, Koshi Province had a big increase in rice production, which is really important for farming there. The Agriculture and Livestock Ministry said they made 5,724,234 metric tons of rice this year, way more than the 5,621,710 metric tons they made last year.
Even though they didn’t plant as much rice this year, Ram Krishna Regmi, a top expert at the ministry, said they still made a lot more rice because each area they planted was more productive. In Koshi, they made an average of 4.43 metric tons of rice for each hectare they planted. They did things like using better seeds, having fewer plant diseases, getting fertilizers on time, and having good weather. These things helped them make more rice this year.
