Following public opinions on the establishment of a cable car in Pathibhara, a Coordination Committee has been established. In the midst of the increasing controversy surrounding whether to construct the cable car or not, the committee has been formed under the coordination of Chiring Lama, the Chief of the District Coordination Committee.
The committee consists of nine members, including the leaders of Phungling Municipality, Pathibhara Yangwarak, Faktanglung, and Sirijanga Rural Municipality. Notably, the committee includes the District Officer, the Chairperson of the Pathibhara Area Development Committee, and the President of the Industrial and Commerce Association.
Chiring Lama, the coordinator of the coordination committee, shared information that the committee will facilitate necessary coordination by involving both sides to express their views on the construction and non-construction of the cable car. The Pathibhara Area Development Committee had previously conducted a meeting specifically to discuss matters related to the cable car. Following the public opposition from a youth group, demanding not to proceed with the construction, Rakki Thewa, the chairperson of the Area Development Committee, emphasized the committee’s efforts to address potential risks through discussions.
