Ministry of Finance Allocates 8 Crore Budget for Upgrading Ganeshman Highway

The Ministry of Finance has initiated budget allocation for the enhancement of the Ganeshman Highway section from Thanakot to Chitlang, following a special request from Ghanashyam Giri, the Mayor of Chandragiri Municipality. The Ministry promptly allocated eight crore rupees for immediate improvement work on this highway on Magh 12.

Furthermore, a team comprising Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister Prakash Jwala, Chandragiri Municipality Mayor Giri, Deputy Mayor Vasantii Shrestha, Municipality Spokesperson Krishna Prasad Khadgi, and senior officials from the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport conducted an inspection of the Ganeshman Highway on Wednesday.

This inspection comes after a tragic car accident claimed the lives of five individuals in Setopul on January 28. Minister Jwala, during the inspection, directed relevant authorities to immediately improve the condition of the road and ensure timely completion of construction. He emphasized that safeguarding citizens’ lives is the government’s foremost duty and urged expedited action within the bounds of legal procedures.

The allocated budget includes provisions for gabion walls, side drains, and blacktopping, as announced during this opportunity. Mayor Giri expressed gratitude to Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat for the allocation of funds towards the advancement of the Ganeshman Highway.
