The Third International Tripitaka Chanting Ceremony, which takes place in Lumbini from March 2 to 5, is being organized by the All Nepal Bhikkhu Association. The main Buddhist text, the Tripitaka, will be chanting during the event.
Helping people and promoting world peace are the goals.
Bhikkhu Pancha Murti Mahasthavir, the treasurer of the group arranging the event, explained that it’s essential for promoting Lumbini as a special place for Buddhists to visit. They also wish to spread Buddhist writings and concepts to people worldwide. The Tripitaka comprises three sections that will be chanted at the Mayadevi Temple: portions of the Vinaya Pitaka, the Sutra Pitaka, and the Abhidharma Pitaka. Several Asian countries, including Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Thailand, Korea, and Japan, will be represented.
The event is not centered around chanting. In addition, there will be a peace march in which all are free to take part. The goal of this section is to engage as many people as possible in the process of bringing about more global peace.
Many Buddhist groups, especially the Hinayana and Mahayana, depend heavily on the Tripitaka.
This incident serves as evidence of the significance of Buddhist teachings and their potential to promote global peace.
