The renowned tourist area of Panchpokhari has been cleaned. The five-day cleanliness campaign, with the slogan “In tourism development, let’s keep our creation clean”, has been completed.
Ashok Sharma, the coordinator of New Vision Nepal, provided information that the cleanliness campaign started from Bhotang of Thangpaldhap. It collected 500 kilograms of waste from Bhotang to Panchpokhari, segregating biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste.
The cleanliness campaign at Panchpokhari, coordinated by Panchpokhari Thangpal Rural Municipality, Nepal Tourism Board, and New Vision Nepal, among others, was conducted to make Panchpokhari a new global destination. The list of tourist destinations to visit in Nepal in 2020 also included Panchpokhari, as informed by the chairperson of the rural municipality, Tasi Lama.
He also mentioned that during Janai Purnima, fairs are held, and devotees and tourists use plastic, bottles, and other materials, causing environmental impact. Therefore, the cleanliness campaign was conducted to address this issue.
