The Indigenous Culture and Food Festival kicks off today, bringing a burst of vibrant colors and captivating cultural exhibits to the town of Ilam. This two-day festival is organized by the Suryodaya Municipal Coordination Council of NEFIN and the Suryodaya Women’s Forum, and it is taking place in Suryodaya Municipality-11.

According to Sonam Yolmu, NEFIN’s president, the festival will offer a wide range of cultural exhibitions, traditional outfits, and delicious indigenous dishes. The primary goal of this event is to present the rich heritage of Nepal’s indigenous communities.
The festival plays a key role in safeguarding, enriching, showcasing, and sharing the distinct art, culture, and traditions of indigenous communities. By hosting this event, the goal is to educate and cultivate a deeper respect for the diverse cultural heritage that these communities bring to the country.
