On the 1st of Bhadra in Kathmandu, around seven hundred tourists came to Nepal from Bangladesh. They used special flights to travel here.
Maniraj Lamichhane, who’s in charge of the Nepal Tourism Board, told us that today and tomorrow, tourists from Bangladesh are flying to Nepal on special planes. They have a plan to give them a warm welcome at the Tribhuvan International Airport. They’ll have a reception with traditional Nepali music called “panchabaja” to say hello to these visitors from Bangladesh.
All these Bangladeshi tourists visiting Nepal are being organized by a group called the Mountain Club in Dhaka. This is really helpful for making Nepali tourism better. This is actually the first time a big group of Bangladeshi tourists have come to Nepal through just one company.
Since Bangladesh is right next to Nepal, it’s a good place for tourism. The boss of the Nepal Tourism Board also said that as more and more Bangladeshi tourists come from nearby, it’ll help tell more people about Nepal’s cool places to visit.
Before and after COVID-19, people from Bangladesh have been coming to Nepal. The Nepal Tourism Board’s information tells us that in the first seven months of 2023, around 13,724 visitors from Bangladesh came here.
Breaking it down, in July, Nepal had 2,794 tourists from Bangladesh. Going back, there were 2,466 visitors in June, 2,217 visitors in April, 2,466 visitors in March, 1,007 visitors in February, and 2,466 visitors in January. These numbers help us know how many Bangladeshi tourists have been exploring Nepal lately.
In the year 2022, a total of 25,384 people from Bangladesh came to Nepal. And from January to July in 2023, the Nepal Tourism Board said that about 534,207 people from other countries came to Nepal. This info tells us about how many visitors have been coming to Nepal during these times.
