Manthali-Lukla Flights to Boost Tourism in Eastern Nepal

Flights from Manthali to Lukla are back in action for the trekking season, starting this Sunday. Tara Air, Summit Air, and Sita Air are now operating from Manthali Airport in Ramechhap to accommodate the rise in foreign tourists.

During the busy tourist season, airlines are using buses to transport tourists from Kathmandu to Manthali, where they then catch a flight to Lukla. This change is made to handle the increased number of flights.

As long as the weather stays good, airlines are expected to run many flights this tourist season. Manthali Airport, close to Kathmandu, is special because it’s the only airport in the east and provides services like refueling and serves as an emergency landing spot for planes.
