Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave’s More Than 50 Million Per Year Income from Tourism

Some stories say wise old people looked for wisdom here, while others say the Pandavas, a famous group, went there before they disappeared. Whatever its actual origins, the cave has become a well-known Lord Shiva pilgrimage destination since it was purportedly found in the sixteenth century. Devotees travel from far and wide to the cave’s depths to worship the naturally formed Shiva lingam, hoping to find comfort and blessings in the tranquil surroundings.

In a single year, the Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave in Pokhara earned 54.2 million rupees. Its appeal as a tourist destination is influenced by its age, religious significance, and popularity. The money was raised through donations (roughly 2.7 million rupees), bank interest (about 1.6 million rupees), ticket sales (about 42.8 million rupees), and store and membership rentals.

Also, at this big meeting, they gave awards to Hariram Pokhrel from the Provincial Assembly and Yognath Dhakal, a judge from Dhanusha, for helping take care of the cave.
