About Gurkha Museum
On the ground floor, you’ll discover the harsh life that the Gurkha soldiers lead in the hills. As you walk through the museum, you’ll be transported through time with displays showcasing Gurkha soldiers’ history from the Indian Mutiny in 1815 to current UN operations.
The first floor is dedicated to the customs and traditions of each infantry regiment, supported by hundreds of photographs of regimental life in the barracks.
The second floor focuses on specialist units such as the engineers, signals, transport regiments, and more. You’ll also find a dedicated Indian Army gallery with displays of uniforms, medals, flags, and photographs of Gorkha Regiments that were part of the British Army before WW2 but are now part of the Indian Army.
The museum also has a gift shop where you can purchase a range of Gurkha-related items, including knives, novels, t-shirts, and postcards.
