In a significant development, Thai Airways International, Thailand’s national flag carrier, has officially resumed its Kathmandu-Bangkok flights as of Sunday. The airline temporarily suspended this route on March 25, 2020, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Pratap Babu Tiwari, General Manager of Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), confirmed the resumption of Thai Airways International flights. Simultaneously, Thai Smile has also recommenced its flights to Kathmandu.
It’s worth noting that Thai Airways International initiated its services in Nepal back in December 1968. According to the TIA Office, this move indicates a positive step towards the restoration of Nepal’s international flight network to its pre-COVID-19 status.
