“New Bridge Connects Communities in Myagdi, Enhancing Accessibility and Connectivity”

“In Myagdi, a bridge has been built in the Simana area of Annapurna Rural Municipality-5 and -6. It’s a 25-meter long motorable bridge that connects the Pokharebagar area to Paudevari. Before this bridge was built, people had to walk or use horses to cross the river. Around seven years ago, when there was no bridge, about two hundred families in Barkha village had difficulty traveling.

The construction contract was awarded to Fewa-BEM Jebhi Pokhara for NPR 20.82 million in Magh 2076. The project was initially planned by the National Reconstruction Authority’s District Coordination and Facilitation Unit. Later, it was transferred to the Local Infrastructure Development Office in Kaski, under the Ministry of Urban Development.

The bridge construction started about a year after the agreement was signed on Shrawan 24, 2078. The delay was due to a wrong design made by the consulting company after the detailed project report (DPR) and the bridge construction location’s geography and distance were found mismatched by the earthquake-affected road.

The road from Pokharebagar to Ghar Khivang, extending up to Chitre, a total of 18 kilometers, was blacktopped from Mangsir 2075 in the final phase of the project.”
