Paragliding flights in Pokhara have been stopped by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) due to safety concerns amid disagreements among those involved in the paragliding sector. This indefinite suspension is a precautionary measure as disputes continue between the Nepal Airsports Association (NAA), paragliding entrepreneurs, and pilots.
CAAN’s spokesperson, Jagannath Niraula, mentioned that the conflict between these groups could make flying unsafe, leading to the suspension. The disagreement primarily centers around the one-door system enforced by the NAA for paragliding flights. While some entrepreneurs oppose this system, pilots have been demanding flights through this mechanism.
This discord has led to the suspension of flights, emphasizing the need for resolution among the involved parties to ensure safe operations.
