Three new bridges in the Narayangadh-Muglin road are now open and working. These are the Rigdhi, Khor, and Bhorle bridges.
Engineer Krishna Acharya, who works in the Western Section of the Road Division (Narayangadh-Muglin), shared that vehicles can now use the Nagdhunga-Muglin road, thanks to these new bridges in an ongoing project.
Out of the total 12 bridges in the road section, 15 are now operational. In the first phase, four bridges were built out of 19. The latest completion includes eight bridges out of the remaining 15. Some bridges are awaiting the final layer of blacktopping, but they are open for vehicles.
Engineer Vijay Darai, with information from Bharatpur Metropolitan City, mentioned that all the bridges in the road section will be finished by mid-April. Among the eight remaining bridges, those in Jagedi, Khahare, and Simaltal will be completed within two months.
The construction of one bridge is set to be completed within a year, and two out of seven bridges are already operational. Construction on the remaining five bridges will be finished by mid-June.
Construction of the Khahare Khola Bridge is ongoing, and the road in that area is temporarily closed during the day for hill cutting. About 15 meters of the hill has been cut so far. Project authorities have assured that most of the work will be completed within the given additional time.
The responsibility for constructing 15 bridges in this road section was given to Ankh Kansankar Construction in the fiscal year 2076, with support from the World Bank. This road serves as a crucial route for daily movement, accommodating around 10,000 vehicles from the Terai to the capital and back. Over the years, the road has expanded, and the new bridges are an important addition.
