Rise In Visitor Numbers In Domukha As A Result Of Improvements

Domukha, located in Shivsatakshi Municipality-9 near the Kanakai River in Nepal, is a popular destination for both local and foreign tourists who come for daily picnics. Dan Bahadur Lavtika, the chairman of the Domukha Religious and Tourist Development Management Committee, shared that the newly established road to Domukha has made it more attractive to visitors.

He noted that more tourists have come this year compared to the previous one, thanks to improved facilities like roads and access to drinking water. Lavtika mentioned, “Groups of 20 to 30 people visit Domukha every day, especially on Fridays and Saturdays. We also earn well from their visits.”

The two-kilometer road from Maidhar Chok to Chure is now set, making it easier for tourists to reach Domukha, according to his observations. He highlighted that the location has become more accessible for tourists because of this improvement. Tourists from places like Ilam, Morang, Sunsari, India, Darjeeling, Mirik, Siliguri, etc, visit Domukha for forest feasts.

Lavtika mentioned that they charge between five hundred to three thousand rupees for forest feasts. Domukha’s tourist area offers a children’s park, a multipurpose museum, a swimming pool, and the Jholunge Bridge. He also shared about the beautiful area connected to the Chure region, known for being a filming location for various Nepali movies and music videos. Lavtika emphasized that Shivsatakshi Municipality has several well-equipped hotels in the area, providing convenience for tourists.
