The head of the Civil Aviation Authority office in Ramechhap, Pooja Thapa, announced that normal flights have resumed today due to the improved weather.
There will be more than 500 competitors in three distinct events for this race, which is the only one authorized by the International Trail Running Association (ITRA) in Nepal.
The runners have a fantastic opportunity this year. Asian Trail Master (ATM) is a partner of the Manjushree Trail Race. This implies that Nepali runners will no longer need to fly overseas to compete in major trail running events around the globe.
The fact that competitors from all across Asia will go to Nepal to compete makes it a significant event for the country as well as for ultra and trail runners.
There are advantages to joining the ATM. A competitor receives direct admittance to the Asia Trail Master Championship later in the year if they place in the top five at both the Majushree Trail Race and the Jumla Rara Marathon.
While competing in two races in the same week is difficult, it provides a fantastic incentive for racers.
In addition, runners compete in the Manjushree Trail Race as part of the ITRA Nation League in an attempt to win the title of 2024 ITRA National Champion.
It’s also accredited to provide runners with a UTMB index rating, which allows entry into UTMB qualifying races and a chance to enter the main UTMB races in Chamonix in August 2024.
The race takes competitors over seven peaks that encircle the valley and along the ridge line that borders the Kathmandu valley. With a total rise of 12,695 meters throughout the seven peaks, the entire distance covered is 175.18 kilometers.
In addition, on the final day of the competition, Trailmandu will host the final stage race of the 30-kilometer Kathmandu Valley Rim trail race. Aspiring runners can experience long-distance running with this.
This year, cash prizes will be given to the winners of the race:
