Kathmandu, Nepal– Japan’s Foreign Minister, Yoko Kamikawa, recently visited Nepal, showcasing the strong relationship between the two nations and immersing herself in the vibrant culture of Kathmandu’s historic Basantpur area.

After arriving on Sunday, Foreign Minister Kamikawa spent no time in discovering Nepal’s rich history. She went to see the architectural wonders of Kathmandu and Basantpur. She took half an hour to study the Kal Bhairav Temple and Hanumandhoka Palace, which highlight the historical significance of the city and Nepal’s distinctive cultural tapestry.

Following her exploration, Foreign Minister Kamikawa took home a piece of Nepal’s spiritual essence with a Buddha statue purchase.

She has never been to Nepal before taking up the position of Foreign Minister. It is a symbol of how much Japan values its ties with Nepal. She had scheduled polite encounters with leaders such as Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and President Ramchandra Paudel.

She held bilateral talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bimala Rai Paudyal, enhancing diplomatic ties between the two nations,and hosted a dinner in her honor, showcasing Nepal’s warm hospitality.

The visit by Foreign Minister Kamikawa showcases Nepal’s rich spiritual and cultural legacy, which includes its breathtaking mountain ranges, the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest, as well as its extensive history and spiritual places.
