The highly awaited ‘Thai Film Festival Nepal’ is set to return to Kathmandu after a decade-long absence. The Thai Embassy in Kathmandu has organized a three-day event to commemorate the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Thailand, which will begin from next Friday.
Supapong Sirisorn, the Ambassador of Thailand to Nepal, announced the festival’s return at a news conference on Monday. The festival was last organized in 2013. This festival attempts to improve the link between Nepal and Thailand through films in a common language.
The festival is held in the Royal Thai Embassy in Kathmandu from August 30 to September 1. The host will play six excellent Thai films, offering viewers a unique look into Thai culture and storytelling. In addition to the movie experience, participants will be treated to complimentary Thai food, which will serve to encourage cultural interactions. The event is free and open to the public, making it a welcoming and enlightening experience for everyone.
The revival of the Thai Cinema Festival is a turning point in Nepal-Thailand ties, bringing the two cultures closer together through their passion for cinema.
