Constitution Day Celebration at Durbar Marg

Constitution Day is a public holiday in Nepal, observed on September 19 each year. It marks the anniversary of the approval of Nepal’s 2015 Constitution, which legally established the country’s transition from a constitutional monarchy to a federal republic.

On Thursday evening, Durbar Marg came alive with the vibrant energy of hundreds of people, most of whom were young enthusiasts waving Nepal’s national flag. What was the occasion? A fantastic National Day Concert Commemorating Constitution Day, complete with music, nationalism, and excited people.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and his wife Radhika Shakya attended the ceremony, positively waving national flags. The Prime Minister was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel and Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, making it a grand occasion.

The concert’s program included famous musicians like Ananda Karki, Kunti Moktan, Devika Bandana, Sugam Pokharel, Deepak Limbu, and Pramod Kharel, who lit up the stage. Kutumba and Elements and emerging artists Siwani Moktan and Swapna Suman delivered electrifying performances for the crowd.

With almost 5,000 police officers assuring the event’s safety, the evening was a memorable celebration of music and national pride. Durbar Marg was converted into a sea of excitement, celebrating Constitution Day in style.
