Chandragiri, Kathmandu The Second Chandragiri Industrial, Cultural, Tourism, and Trade Festival 2082 will be a spectacular show with a perfect mix of cultural activities, industrial displays, and tourism advertisements. The festival is organized by the Matatirtha Conservation and Development Institution with the assistance of the Industrial Peace Nepal, the main goal of the festival is to promote local products, preserve the cultural heritage and enhance the tourism in Chandragiri region.

Grand Lineup of National Artists

The festival will feature a stellar lineup of Nepalese artists, promising music, dance, and cultural programs that reflect the diversity of Nepal’s artistic heritage. Confirmed performers include:

These performances are scheduled on Asoj 6, 10, 11, 12, and 13, with a small entry fee on these dates. Entry on other festival days will remain free, encouraging wider participation from locals and tourists alike. In addition to the headlining artists, several other talented local and regional performers will take the stage throughout the festival, offering a rich and continuous showcase of Nepalese music, dance, and cultural traditions.

Originally scheduled to begin on Bhadra 26, 2082, the festival was postponed to Asoj 2 due to national circumstances. Chairperson Shanta Udas confirmed that stall bookings are ongoing and preparations are well underway.

The festival opens during a period of reflection and solidarity, following the tragic events of September 9, 2025, when the lower station of the Chandragiri Cable Car was set ablaze during protests. The incident led to the suspension of cable car operations and affected local tourism and livelihoods.

The organizers express their deepest sympathies to all those affected by the deaths and injuries suffered in such incidents. They are once again committed to rebuilding, restoring services, and empowering the local community. The organizers claim that this festival is more than just a celebration; it is a symbol of Chandragiri and its people’s strength, unity, and hope.
