Homestay in Baglung is experiencing less tourist flow

The homestays in rural areas of Baglung district are not doing well because no tourists have come since the start of the rainy season. The village that usually gets a lot of tourists has had fewer visitors compared to last year. Because of this, the people who run the homestays are now working in their fields because they don’t have guests.

Even the popular tourist spots in the district, like Kalika Temple, a suspension bridge that connects Baglung to Parbat, and Panchakot and Shaligram Museum, are not as busy as before. These places have only a few tourists.

In one of the homestays called Baldhunga, the owner Gopal Shris said that they expect tourists to come in about two weeks. Very few tourists have come during the rainy season. This is because the heavy rainfall has damaged the roads in many places. The bad roads make it difficult for visitors to come. Chris thinks that if the roads are fixed and safe, more people will visit the homestays.

When tourists come to the homestays, they are given natural products and enjoy local foods like gundruk, dhindo, mutton, chicken, and special potato dishes.

Another homestay owner, Muna Thapamagar, who is in Bhakunde, Baglung, is waiting for the winter season when more tourists usually come from different parts of the country. But right now, the weather is not good for sightseeing because it’s cloudy. The number of visitors usually starts to increase after the Teej festival.
