Tanahun locals frightened seeing leopards on a regular basis.Due to frequent reports of leopard sightings in the Tundikhel area of the Bandipur municipality in Tanahun district, residents have been cautioned to remain attentive.
The locals were scared because the big cat was frequently spotted in the area.
According to Chairperson of Tundikhel Tole Development Committee in Bandipur, Tanahun Kisan Pradhan, parents have been requested not to allow their kids go outside in the evening or early in the morning.
A few of the factors contributing to the rising number of leopard attacks in the region and other surrounding Tanahun district areas are the absence of prey species in the forest, the spread of habitation into forested areas, and the conversion of farmlands into bushes.
The District Forest Office reports that in the last six years, there have been up to 13 children lost their lives in the Tanahun district due to leopard attacks.
