Two police van has been set on fire in violent protest today in Gongabu, Kathmandu.

The Transport Workers Union, a major organization representing public vehicle workers in the Kathmandu Valley, has threatened to shut down all public transportation in the region beginning tomorrow. Residents and workers who rely on public transit for everyday travel have faced difficulties since this afternoon.

According to a statement released by the union, the decision to shut down the transportation system until the government fulfills the demand of the transport workers’ union.
