How to get there

Travel to Chabahil: From Kathmandu, you need to make your way to Chabahil, which is the starting point for the Ama Yangri Trek. You can hire a taxi or take a local bus to Chabahil, which is about 7 kilometers northeast of central Kathmandu.

Bus from Chabahil to Melamchi: In Chabahil, you can catch a bus that goes to Melamchi. Melamchi is a town located along the trekking route, and it serves as the gateway to the Ama Yangri Trek. The bus ride from Chabahil to Melamchi takes around 2 to 3 hours, depending on the road conditions.

Timbu to Tarkeghyang: From Melamchi, you can continue the journey by taking another bus or local transportation to Timbu. The bus ride from Melamchi to Timbu takes approximately 1 to 2 hours. During the rainy season, the bus may only go as far as Timbu.

Trek from Tarkeghyang to Ama Yangri: From Timbu, you will start your trek towards Tarkeghyang. This is the first village you will encounter along the trekking route. From Tarkeghyang, it takes about 4 hours of trekking to reach the summit of Ama Yangri, where you can enjoy stunning mountain views.
