Jomsom-Muktinath Artery Roars Back to Life, Defying Devastating Flood Assault

The Jomsom-Muktinath road was blocked due to flooding since Wednesday night, but it’s open now. The flood in Mustang washed away parts of the road near Pandakhola, cutting off the road network.

A 20-meter section of the road between Jharapjhong and Baragung Muktichhetra was severely damaged by the flood.

Hom Bahadur Thapa Magar, the determined chief administrative officer of Baragung Muktichhetra, proudly announced success as the debris was cleared, allowing vehicles to use the road again.

Despite the difficulties, he mentioned that the consistent flooding in Pandakhola has always been a problem during the rainy season. Today, with strong determination, the Beni-Jomsom road in the Kaligandaki corridor has reopened, a symbol of our unwavering spirit.
