
Sudan Kirati, the Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, has emphasized the need to promote Nepali culture on the global stage. Speaking at an event organized by the Khemraj Gurung Trust to commemorate Gurung’s seventh death anniversary, Minister Kirati expressed the view that Nepal’s culture and natural beauty are treasures that should be showcased worldwide.
He highlighted Nepal’s natural, religious, and cultural richness, emphasizing iconic elements such as Mt. Everest, Gautam Buddha, Pashupatinath, diverse customs, languages, and culture as integral parts of Nepali identity. Minister Kirati suggested that Nepal has the potential to earn foreign currency by attracting people from around the world to experience its culture, traditions, and natural beauty.
He also mentioned the state’s intention to honor individuals who contribute to the nation through music. During the event, Bhajan Shitomanu Bhaktaraj Acharya was presented with the ‘Shrashta Samman’ award, and senior lyricist Tulasi Basnet received the ‘Pratibha Puraskar’ recognition.
