The autumn season is here, and climbers from all over the world are returning to the mountains. This autumn, clearance has been given for 284 individuals—divided into 28 teams—to travel to the mountains.
What’s interesting is that it’s not Mount Everest but other peaks that are in high demand this season. Mount Manaslu, in particular, has received the most permits for the season. A total of 266 climbers, divided into 23 teams, have been given the green light to ascend Mount Manaslu this year.
China leads the pack in terms of climbers obtaining permits, with 67 individuals planning expeditions on various mountains this season, including 18 adventurous women. Meanwhile, the United States has 30 permit holders, including seven women, and Russia boasts 26 climbers, with four women among them. Japan has 15 climbers with permits, including four women, and France has 15 climbers, including two women. Surprisingly, Nepal, the home of these majestic peaks, has only three climbers who have been granted permits for this season.
