The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has requested everyone to avoid flying kites, drones, and balloons near the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).
CAAN Spokesperson and Deputy Director General, Jagannath Niraula, mentioned that there have been instances of people flying kites, drones, and balloons near the airport, even though it’s prohibited. This poses a serious danger to aviation safety. The aviation authority is urging everyone to refrain from such actions.
The risk is especially high during Dashain and Tihar festivals because these celebrations involve flying kites and balloons.
On Friday, CAAN issued a public notice requesting that people avoid engaging in any activity that could threaten flight safety. They also warned to take action if this request was not implemented.
