In a bid to boost domestic and international tourism, the Division Forest Office, in collaboration with the Barahi community forest management, has successfully established the Tiger Hill Park in Myagde Rural Municipality-1, Tanahun district. The newly unveiled Tiger Hill Park is poised to become a sought-after destination for nature enthusiasts and adventure-seekers alike.
The visionary behind this project, Muktinath Khanal, Chair of the community forest, expressed their commitment to creating an appealing space for tourists. The park is conveniently located just 200 meters north of the Prithvi Highway, making it easily accessible to travelers. A striking tiger statue graces the park’s entrance, offering a unique and captivating welcome to visitors.
But that’s not all; the Tiger Hill Park is more than just a picturesque spot. Its infrastructure includes thoughtfully designed steps that lead visitors to various attractions within the park. Khanal revealed ambitious plans to introduce a range of exciting activities, such as rock climbing, eco-trekking, rock gardening, view tower experiences, bird watching, and hiking. The park showcases diverse rock structures of intriguing shapes, a captivating glass-house nestled in the treetops, and a circular resting area for visitors. Clearly, meticulous attention has been given to publicity and development, with the aim of transforming the park into a premier tourism destination.
Kashi Raj Pandit, Assistant Forest Officer, highlighted the broader mission of the park’s construction. This initiative aligns with the District Divisional Forest Office’s annual program to create ‘Green Parks’ throughout the district, fostering the emergence of new tourism hotspots.
The Tiger Hill Park, a testament to collaborative efforts, was brought to life with a total investment of Rs 625,000. The District Divisional Forest Office generously contributed Rs 500,000, while the Barahi community forest provided Rs 125,000 in support. And the exciting news doesn’t stop here—plans are already underway to establish a mini zoo and a picnic area within the park, enhancing the recreational possibilities for visitors.
It’s worth noting that the Green Park initiative extends beyond Tiger Hill Park. Other Green Parks have also been established in Mohoriya of Bhimad Municipality-9 and Simaltar of Byas Municipality-4, showcasing the commitment to promoting eco-tourism and green spaces in the region. This opens up new opportunities for travelers to explore the natural beauty and diverse attractions of Tanahun district.
