Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s visit to Dubai has caused turmoil as flight schedules were abruptly shifted, resulting in 31 passengers missing their flights from the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).
Global Youth Campaigner for Climate Justice, Prajwal Bikram Rana, bound for the climate change conference ‘COP-28’ in Dubai, arrived at TIA expecting a departure at 11:30 PM. However, upon reaching the airport at 8:30 PM, Rana was denied entry, informed that the flight had already departed at the revised time of 9:30 PM.
Nepal Airlines Corporation modified the flight time two hours ahead without informing the passengers, causing confusion and stranding individuals like Rana and the 31 others. The affected passengers, primarily youths heading for employment opportunities in Dubai, were left uninformed about the altered flight schedules.
Subsequently, the stranded passengers have been accommodated at the Kaberi Inn Hotel in Gyaneshwar, awaiting arrangements for an alternative flight to Dubai, as mentioned in a letter provided by the airline.
The incident highlights the chaotic situation arising from the abrupt shift in flight timings, impacting the travel plans of numerous individuals bound for Dubai.
