In November 2023, Nepal saw a remarkable influx of over 100,000 foreign tourists entering the country through air travel, as reported by the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB). This surge contributes to a total of 918,308 foreign visitors arriving in Nepal throughout the year, marking a significant stride towards the government’s target of one million tourists by the end of 2023.
The Nepal government’s ambitious goal for 2023 is on the verge of realization, with just over 80,000 additional tourists needed to meet the set target. With December’s tourist arrivals anticipated to bridge this gap, Nepal is poised to accomplish its tourism objective for the year.
Maniraj Lamichhane, Director and Spokesperson for the NTB, expressed confidence in surpassing the government’s target, asserting, “We anticipate approximately 100,000 tourists in December, reinforcing our certainty in reaching the one million mark for 2023.”
Furthermore, Nepal witnessed a tourism peak in October 2023, with a record-breaking influx of 117,306 tourists entering the country, setting a new benchmark for tourist arrivals.
The steady increase in tourist footfall showcases Nepal’s appeal as a coveted destination, promising cultural richness, scenic beauty, and diverse experiences, making it an attractive prospect for travelers worldwide.
