“Pashupati Area Development Trust Issues Guidelines for Bala Chaturdashi Festival”

The Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) urges devotees to observe the upcoming Bala Chaturdashi festival systematically, outlining a 13-point guideline for the event, which begins on December 10th. Highlighting the significance of this festival, the trust advises devotees to adhere to specific guidelines during the celebrations.

Raj Kumar Khatri, the member secretary of PADT, emphasizes the importance of following these guidelines, including the recommendation to scatter Satbeej (seven kinds of grains) only in designated areas. The trust prohibits sowing Satbeej in areas marked with stone blocks and urges visitors to respect areas where tree transplants have occurred. Additionally, visitors are advised to carry identification cards, especially when accompanied by children.

PADT Director Dr. Ghanshyam Khatiwada informs that while the lighting of lamps is restricted in certain areas, tents will be provided free of charge for devotees spending the night at the temple during the festival. For those unable to visit, arrangements for lighting lamps in memory of departed souls can be made through a payment of Rs 2,100 to PADT.

In alignment with the festival, the PADT strictly prohibits the production, sale, storage, and consumption of alcohol and meat in the vicinity of the Pashupatinath Temple until December 13, with violators subject to legal consequences. The collaborative efforts of the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and PADT workforces aim to ensure the success of the festival.
