Sauraha, a renowned tourist destination, gears up to host the Crocodile Conservation Fair 2023 on December 8th and 9th, dedicated to safeguarding the critically endangered Ghadiyaal crocodile species. This initiative aims to engage the local community in conservation efforts while providing scientific insights and devising a comprehensive strategy for the conservation of crocodile species.
Ranjana Bhatt, the fair’s coordinator, emphasized its role in nurturing conservation values among the younger generation. Organized by Care of Nature, the fair will showcase informative audio-visual materials, posters, artworks, and an information center highlighting crocodile-related facts. Additionally, visitors can explore local art, culture, and diverse food stalls.
Education on conservation will extend to eight different schools, with the fair featuring engaging programs like dramas, songs, and dances centered around conservation themes. The event is poised to raise awareness, foster conservation consciousness, and lay the groundwork for a sustainable future for crocodile species.
