Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring systematic air safety in Nepal, aiming to remove the country from the European Union’s aviation blacklist.
During the reception of a delegation led by Acting Chairperson of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Dol Prasad Aryal, PM Dahal assured efforts toward the removal of Nepal’s air space from the EU blacklist. The delegation emphasized the need for serious attention from the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) and transparency in the acquisition of new aircraft.
In response, PM Dahal highlighted continuous efforts to address air safety concerns, stressing the importance of fostering trust and instituting reforms to alleviate Nepal’s air space from the EU’s blacklist. He emphasized discussions held with EU representatives and local aviation authorities, acknowledging the criticality of air safety’s impact on Nepal’s international reputation.
While acknowledging some improvements in air safety, PM Dahal stressed the insufficiency of these advancements for the EU’s considerations. He expressed the necessity for further enhancements and welcomed suggestions for achieving tangible outcomes, promising proactive initiatives following detailed discussions with regulatory bodies.
