
Inspectors found that some hotels and restaurants along Siddhartha Highway were still serving food that wasn’t good for people’s health. After checking regularly, they noticed that things got a bit better in these places.
They saw improvements in the food served at big and small hotels along Siddhartha Highway. These hotels and restaurants started making better food and keeping things cleaner after inspectors checked them often.
According to Shyam Kumar Poudel from the Cottage and Small Industries Office in Palpa, things got better in the last one and a half years compared to the past two and a half years. He said food like bread, pakoras, and rotis cooked in old oil got better.
Inspectors kept visiting hotels and restaurants from Butwal to Siddhababa along Siddhartha Highway. About 1,000 people eat at these places every day. The Food Technology and Quality Control Division Office in Palpa watched how people ate and made sure the food was good for their health.
Narendra Shrestha, the head of the Division Office in Palpa, said they kept checking these places because lots of people ate there. He said they also made sure the hotels were cleaner during recent checks.
Rama Shrestha from the District Administration Office in Palpa mentioned that out of 31 hotels and restaurants they checked, they saw improvements. Before, these places used bad oil for cooking, put food colors in bread, and mixed different meats, but they’ve gotten better now.
