For the 144th time, mountaineer and guide Chatur Tamang ascended Europe’s highest peak, Mount Elbrus (5,642 meters), with great success.
On Thursday at nine in the morning Russian time, he successfully ascended Mount Elbrus. He succeeded in taking his first steps atop Mount Elbrus during the winter of 2024.
He began climbing Mount Elbrus in 2002 and has long been employed by the Russian government as a guide.
Tamang has set a target of two hundred ascents of Mount Elbrus.
Following further achievements in Elbrus Mountain, he shared his story on Facebook-“I started the New Year by climbing the winter Elbrus. The weather is harsh, as much as -53 degrees at the top. Even the high-rise jumpsuit could not cope with such cold, I had to put a warm down jacket on top of it. My 144 time at the top of Elbrus is frosty and invigorating.”
