Seventh Nepal-America Film Festival to Maryland and Washington, D.C In June

The seventh Nepal–America International Film Festival is happening in Maryland and Washington D.C. It will run from June 20 to June 23, and they are accepting applications from people who want to take part.

This event has been organized every year since 2017 by the Nepal–America Film Society. They will show different kinds of movies like feature films, documentaries, short films, and animations. They give importance to films from independent creators in Nepal, America, and South Asia.

Local filmmakers from Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia are invited to join the “DMV Close-Up” section, where their films will be shown. This year, they will also include films that were part of the Global Peace Film Festival in Florida.

The festival is led by Yuvakar Rajkarnikar, a youth activist. The objective is to give participants and those watching a unique entertaining and educational experience. Due to COVID-19, the previous two editions were held virtually however, this time, a live performance is planned.

During the festival, they will give recognition and awards in different categories. There will also be discussions and workshops about films, culture, and new technologies.
