The National Organic Agriculture Fair began in Butwal on Thursday.
The aim is to encourage the production of organic agricultural products. Minister Mandarilal Ahir inaugurated the fair and stressed the importance of cooperation between policymakers, officials, and farmers. Hari Prasad Aryal, Chairman of Butwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, mentioned the need for reforms in the agriculture sector to boost its contribution to the economy. Various speakers called for increased government investment in agriculture for its growth and modernization.
The fair, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Management of Lumbini Province and Butwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will run for five days until February 26. It includes sharing information on organic agricultural goods, livestock, fish products, and promoting good practices in agriculture and modern technology. Special activities like crop and soil testing camps will also be held during the fair.
