The Nepali Army has constructed essential tourism facilities in the Sagarmatha region. Two restrooms have been built at an altitude of three thousand four hundred meters in Charakot of Kumbhu Rural Municipality-4, Phungi Thangma. Durga Baksh Ganaka’s soldier Navaraj Basnet informed that the construction was completed after relentless efforts of about three months, from the budget allocated for public welfare, which was around Rs. 1 million. He said, “The restrooms were constructed from Magh 17 to Magh 18. The initiative was based on the suggestions and recommendations of former Prime Minister Upendra Yadav, Sagarmatha National Park Security Chief Tainath Ranshur, and Gulm Commander Gulma Vijay Kumar, as well as the entire team of Gulm’s nearly three months of tireless efforts.”
Sagarmatha National Park’s Chief Conservation Officer Sushma Ranal expressed confidence that the public restrooms constructed by the Nepali Army would provide convenience to both domestic and foreign tourists visiting the Sagarmatha National Park. Sagarmatha National Park is a major destination for tourists from various countries. Nearly 50,000 domestic and foreign tourists visit places such as Sagarmatha, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, along with sites like Everest Base Camp, Kala Patthar, and Gokyo Lake within the Sagarmatha National Park.
