
A big festival called the “Grand Khotang Festival of Sports, Literature, Music, and Tourism – 2081 BS” is happening in Diktel, Khotang, from May 11th to 22nd. It’s organized by the Nepal Sports Association Khotang to celebrate Democracy Day and promote sports and culture.
At a press conference, they announced there would be karate competitions, marathons, races for different ages, and literary and musical contests. The event is expected to cost around 5 million NPR.
They’re preparing for a national karate competition from May 15th to 17th, with participants from all seven provinces. There will also be a marathon on May 11th.
The victors of several races will get rewards, including monetary payouts for various age groups. Political leaders, journalists, and others participating in races will also get prizes.
A literary competition is set for May 22nd, with cash prizes for winners. The festival aims to promote Khote as a tourist destination and encourage sports participation.
The estimated budget for the karate competition is 3.5 million NPR, 1 million NPR for athletics, and 1 million NPR for the literary competition. Political leaders and journalists were briefed about the festival during a press conference.
