The Ilampokhari area situated between Doodhpokhari Rural Municipality-3 Lamjung and Dordee Rural Municipality-5 Panchok in English will be organized. These two rural municipalities have decided to organize the Ilampokhari area situated on the boundary of both municipalities. Along with organizing this historic and religious area, various structures will also be constructed.
Both rural municipalities have held a joint meeting and decided to organize the Ilampokhari area, reconstruct the Satkanya Devi Temple, and prepare a detailed project report (DPR) for extensive projects such as Ilampokhari Fort of the 22nd and 24th states. According to Deputy Chairman Kshetra Bahadur Gurung of Doodhpokhari Rural Municipality, work on the DPR has started with a budget of two to two lakh rupees from each rural municipality.
He informed that the Ilampokhari Tal and the Satkanya Devi Temple, which had suffered damage due to the earthquake of Baishakh 2072, would be rebuilt and structures such as picnic spots, toilets, drinking water, etc., would be constructed. According to Deputy Chairman Gurung, a stupa will be built near the fort, and a pedestrian road will be constructed from Ilampokhari to Joribari.
Although the Satkanya Devi Temple was renovated by the federal government for five lakhs in 2065, it was damaged due to the earthquake, so reconstruction has started. The budget estimated for the DPR is expected to be increased by requesting budgets from the Gandaki Province Government and the Federal Government to advance the work.
It is believed that worship in this ancient temple will fulfill the wishes of the ancient times. Similarly, Ilampokhari Tal, which is 2,260 meters high from sea level, is a tourist destination. Sacrifices are made here except in the month of Sawan. From here, you can also see various mountains besides sunrise and sunset. From here, you have to go to Dudhpokhari Kund.
Before planting rice in Bichaur, the people of Daudipokhari Municipality informed that the rice harvest should be planted after setting up a dairy stream in Mangsir, so the reconstruction of the temple, which has historical and religious significance, is being carried out by both the rural municipalities with the expectation of protection and tourism development.
On Monday, a team consisting of Dordee Rural Municipality Chairman Yuvraj Adhikari, Vice-Chairman Bichha Bahadur Ghale, Doodhpokhari Rural Municipality Chairman Dhan Prasad Gurung, Vice-Chairman Kshetra Bahadur Gurung, Chief Administrative Officer of Dordee Hemraj Kafle, Sub-engineer Vishwas Pandey, Dordee-5 Deputy Chairman Kumaraj Gurung, Doodhpokhari-3 Deputy Chairman Shyam Gurung, etc., visited the site for inspection along with the meeting for the DPR.
