Chitwan National Park Transferring Rhinos for Conservation

Six rhinos are moving from one part of Chitwan National Park to another. They’re shifting from the western area to the eastern area. To do this, a team of 60 people, including experts and army personnel, is helping out.

The Chief Conservation Officer, Dil Bahadur Purja Pun, explained that the rhinos, which are between 8 to 20 years old, are being moved to a specific spot called Dibyapuri. This process might take about two weeks.

This relocation is based on a study by the Department of National Park and Wildlife Conservation. The goal is to help rhinos reproduce better by bringing them together from different areas of the park.

The officials are paying attention to the balance between male and female rhinos. Also, any rhinos causing problems by wandering into human areas will be moved first.
