Holi, or Fagu, this year has already started a few days ago. Although the formal days of the Holi celebration are Sunday, March 11, and Monday, March 12, people in the plains and hills of Nepal are beginning to celebrate. Holi is a vibrant event that makes people happy on the inside. This is the ideal time of year for celebrations because the weather is not too hot or chilly. People of all ages enjoy this festival with lots of excitement and in different ways.
Recently, there’s been a trend of corporate-style Holi celebrations in Nepal. Many hotels and restaurants now organize big Holi events. This year, special Holi programs are happening at various places in Kathmandu on Sunday, March 11.
One special event, called “Holi Fiesta-2080,” is being held for the first time at a restaurant in Chobar, Kathmandu. It will be a fun and musical celebration held at Dry Port Gate No. 1.
The organizers are getting ready to make this Holi celebration lively. Two music groups, Aviskar and Nibha & The Nugah Band, will perform live concerts. After the music, DJs Arjan, Ravi, and Bishal will play various songs to entertain the young crowd. Chiring Bhutiya and Som Lamalai will also be there to add to the excitement.
The event will take place from 10 AM to 4 PM and will also include a food festival alongside the colorful festivities. Tickets are available for NPR 399 if you pre-book, or NPR 499 at the door.
