The Ridi-Tamghas section of the Madan Bhandari Highway will be closed for three weeks starting today due to road widening work.
The Highway Project Office has announced this closure and advises people to use different routes during this time.
The Office’s spokesperson, Sharmila Sharma, stated that among other things, blasting cliffs is part of the road widening process. This means that for the next three weeks, the road will be closed from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and from 10:00 pm to 4:00 am.
It was agreed to close this 25-kilometer highway earlier than expected during a meeting presided over by Chief District Officer Krishna Prasad Sharma.
During this closure, the Office suggests using alternative routes such as Panityanki-Thorga-Syalpokhari-Salbisauni-Ratamate route, Pipalneta-Digam-Ridi route, Lumchha-Dharampani-Digam-Ridi route, and Ghumti-Charpala-Khajryang-Ridi route for transportation.
